Book  a trip - 770-265-1501

Rates and payment

I offer competitive pricing and can tailor a fishing trip to fit your needs.  Most of the trips are 4 to 5 hours, but you always have the option of extending your trip to a full day.  Payment can be made in the form of cash, check, or all major credit cards.  Corporate trips are available too.

What to bring

While all the gear, bait, ice, gas, and fish stories are on me, there are a few items you'll have to bring along.  Everyone between the ages of 16 and 65 will need a fishing license.  I'll have a cooler full of ice for whatever you want to eat and drink during your trip.  Most of my trips will depart from Lanier Boat Rental and Tackle at Bald Ridge Marina.  They stock a myriad of drinks and snacks and they sell fishing licenses, making a trip with me a one stop shop. Also, children under 13 will be required to wear a life jacket at all times on my boat.  Let me know if I need to provide life vests for small children, or bring one along if they have one they are used to wearing.  Check the weather before your trip.  Dress for the occasion.  It's often windier and chillier on the water than the forecast states.  You can never be too prepared. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera to document your trophy are good items to pack.  While  I like to promote catch and release, I know how tasty a fresh striper filet can be.  Bring along a cooler to take your catch home if you wish.  I will filet and pack your fish at the end of your trip if you so desire.

My boat

Picture

I fish out of a 2012 Carolina Skiff 218 DLV.  It's a very roomy and stable platform for up to 4 anglers plus me.  I use a Lowrance HDS graph with downscan and GPS.  I may even jot down some numbers for you to take home if you have your own boat.  On the front is a Minn Kota trolling motor with iPilot helping us stay right on top of those hungry stripers.  I use Ugly Stick striper rods paired with Shimano, Okuma, and Diawa reels.  I take great pride in using the best equipment and maintaining it to meet my high standards.  My casting equipment is all light tackle spinning reels on Okuma rods.  If it's time for a topwater bite I'll have one ready for you to experience the thrill of a striped bass inhaling a topwater plug.

Why hire a fishing guide?

Lake Lanier is a big body of water.  I have 18 years of experience chasing these fish up and down the 38,000 acres it encompasses.  No matter the season or weather conditions,  I'll have a plan based on those years of experience, trial, and error to put a trophy on the end of your line.  I have a network of friends and associates that are fishing on the lake every day passing information back and forth about techniques and that secret "honey hole".  I can be kindergarten teacher, college professor, and anything in between.  Work with me to tailor a trip to your specific need.  Whether a family outing where just catching fish and spending quality time outdoors is the goal, or a detailed lesson on any specific technique or utilizing a piece of equipment is desired, my main focus is always on the customer and making their day enjoyable and productive.
